Launch of the Honda NSR 75
The Honda NSR 75 appeared on the market in the late 1980s. From its origins, it had a huge appeal, although its great popularity came in the following decade (Honda manufactured it between 1987 and 1992). In fact, it was one of the best-selling motorcycles of the time, both for its design and many of its features.
At that time, the motorcycle was designed with the firm desire to emulate the aesthetics and performance of racing motorcycles. Virtually from its inception, it can be said to have marked an entire era. In Spain, it was distributed by Montesa, and success was immediate.

Honda NSR 75 Features
One of the main characteristics of the Honda NSR was determined by its low weight. This allowed it to offer great maneuverability and exciting and fun driving. A feature that undoubtedly caught the attention of many young people, hence its huge appeal.
Originally, the Honda NSR 75 was manufactured in two colors. Honda used white as a base color and changed the decals from blue to red. Both were ultimately the colors that triumphed in that era.

Sporty Appearance
The sporty appearance of this motorcycle was another of its most interesting and outstanding qualities. Indeed, Honda marketed it under the slogan "The fastest". A motorcycle that came to succeed the Honda MBX75 (Hurricane), which in Spain received the popular name of Urraca.
The difference between both motorcycles was palpable in terms of design. The Honda NSR 75 had much more modern lines and, above all, a very aesthetic and appealing sporty appearance.

Honda NSR 75 Performance
The Honda NSR 75 is a semi-faired motorcycle (the fairing does not completely cover the motorcycle) with very simple lines. In addition, it has a tubular frame, white three-spoke wheels, and the Pro-Link swingarm. Its front braking was carried out with a single 220-millimeter brake disc and the rear with a 110-millimeter drum brake.
The turn signals were integrated into the fairing, and the windscreen provided much more protection than it might seem at first glance.
Two-Stroke Engine
One of the differentiating aspects of the Honda NSR 75 was its two-stroke, 75cc engine capable of delivering 12 hp at 9,500 revolutions per minute. An engine that offered a fuel consumption of 4 liters per 100 kilometers, with the addition of 2% oil to the fuel every time the tank was refilled.
The combination of low weight and this two-stroke engine allowed for very agile and fast driving in traffic and smooth, agile direction changes. An engine with which you could enjoy a cruising speed of 80-90 kilometers per hour and excellent suspension.

18-Inch Wheels
The 18-inch wheels were also a hallmark of the Honda NSR 75. With them, it was easier to lean the motorcycle, resulting in much more fun and interesting driving on mountain roads or twisty sections. It was not considered as much a vehicle for highways or fast roads.

Regarding the rest of its features and performance, it is worth mentioning its kickstarter and its maximum power of 9,500 revolutions per minute. However, from 6,500 rpm, it performed quite well.

Weaknesses of the Honda NSR 75
On the other hand, it is also important to highlight the weaknesses of this motorcycle, which, although few, limited certain actions.
On one hand, the NSR 75 came with a slightly weak fairing, so aerodynamic protection was not the most effective. Additionally, stability and control could sometimes be affected. Finally, the motorcycle did not come with a fuel gauge, another aspect to keep in mind.
